Just after people's thoughts as to what the Donnington GP circuit is like for a relative track novice.

It will be my 3rd track-day but my first time at Donnington. I've booked into a weekday 'quiet' session in July (£100, so seemed worth a try)

Whats the general feel of the place? (I'm used to Cadwell Park)

Cheers, Cillit.

Awesome track - I love it. £100 for the GP circuit is very cheap too. To be honest I think the National Circuit is just as good as the GP (the Melbourne loop on the GP circuit breaks up the flow a little, but does give you a tight hairpin to play with).

I like Cadwell Park, but it is very different from Donington. Where Cadwell is narrow, tight and twisty, Donington is wide, sweeping and ultra smooth. Redgate (the first corner) is excellent and leads you into the brilliant Craner Curves - once you get that part right you'll get an immense amount of satisfaction going down it. My other favourite there is Coppice, the double apex corner with the blind entry.

Here's an onboard video of the GP circuit from my last trip there, if you're interested in layout etc:

Fantastic circuit. The Gp circuit is the same as the Indy circuit, but you get to do the Melbourne loop as well.
Don't worry about the circuit, you'll get on with it fine, it's faster than Cadders but slightly less technical. Right through Redgate (not uncommon to run into the kitty litter on the outside so don't give it too much till you learn it!!!) then lovely and fast through Craner Curves, keep it pinned, blind right handerwith 3 apexes (bit like Chris Curves I suppose!!), melbourne loop, back onto start finish straight. Sorted.
£100 is a good price, it's normally more like £160. Enjoy!!!

Cheers for the video Silver, nice one! I'm racing there in a month or two and it's nice to have something to watch! Got any more?
