Anyone got any news, pics, of the new Ducati.
It looks like a 999 but with similar styling to the 916.

Cheers

Looks sweet, I love the rear end of the 999 it's just the front that looks shite. Sticking a 916 front end on it looks Thumbs Up

Not a fan of the 99 rear end. Gets too hot, expensive and ugly i think.

The 1200 (1199? Laughing ) has twin cans like the 998 Very Happy

Front doesn't look aggressive enough, i don't really like the fact it's trying to copy the original model either.

I'd still have one mind...

I like it. I was never keen on the piggybacked twin spot lights they have on the newwer bikes.

Those pics are MCN photoshop mock ups.

Confirmed so far is a return to a single sided swingarm, twin headlights, under seat exausts and a 1200cc engine.

If the line underneath the headlights were clearer and sharper the front would look less rounded and more agressive.

I hope they do go back to the twin headlights. It gives the bike more character. I have tried to like the latest 999, it still looks great in a querky way but it is not stunningly beautiful as the older Ducatis.
It was too much of a drastic change and i just don't quite get it.

If this latest one is a 1200, does that make it more of a 'tourer'? not that it looks like one!

No its a 1200 because the current ducatis arnt quick enough to keep up with the 4 cylinder bikes, even though they are currently 1st and 2nd in BSB

Ducati are currently trying to get their racing capacity upped to be competitive against IL4's. Suppose this would be the homoglation then.

Looks awesome, I hope they go back to the twin headlights because IMO the new headlights don't look so good.

Why do Ducati's only have 2 cyclinders and not 4 like other bikes?

Tradition really, they allways have so they allways do.

2 cylinders give less power, but their desmo vavle system claws a little bit of that back.
Their bikes can be narrower as the engine is narrower, and the power delivery is smoother and lower down giving good pull out of corners without spinning up the back tyre.

A 4 cylinder bike is still quicker, but the rules favour the ducati's in superbike racing.

Speaking of Ducatis can anyone tell me the film:

It stars Laurence Fishburne or Denzel Washington (i think) and there were Ducati bikes in it. One of the guys notices that it has Ducati 966 instead of 916 on the side so he opens up the bike and finds..something or other. Then the 2 race of on their Ducatis while being chased by a limo.

I caught this film halfway through so i dunno what it was about Confused

I've seen that. Thinking What was it called again? It wasn't Biker Boys anyway, I don't think.
