Earlier this year, I had a bike stolen. It was insured 3rd party only. I got it back a couple of hours after it was taken, and there wasn't much damage done.

Now, when I get a quote for my new Hornet, 3rdparty fire and theft, do I have to mention that I had a bike stolen this year, as I didn't claim or anything?

If I do have to mention it, is it likely to affect my premiums?

They don't ask you whether you might have made a claim or not in the past, just if you've actually made one in the last 5 (?) years.
I wouldn't disclose it unless asked specifically.

If it the you didnt notify your insurers of the theft then it doesnt count as a claim. Your insurer will only take into account registered claims on the claims database, not a stolen, then found straight away job. It doesnt count (im an insurance broker by the way, my word is gospel Razz )

Technically (legally) you should have reported the theft to your Insurers regardless of whether you were claiming or not and technically you should disclose that when you get your new Insurance.

However i wouldnt mention it to either of them Very Happy Thumbs Up

Sorted.

have you had any accidents, claims OR LOSSES in the last 3 years

This is the script most companies use (including mine). If you do not mention it and they find out. they will invalidate your insurance in the event of a claim - especially for theft.

try:

www.ebikeinsurance.co.uk

when i added mine as theft - no claim made to the quote. it didnt touch the premium.

Paul.

It doesn't count as a loss though does it, he did not make any claim, nor get any pay out so he does not have to tell them. As Benny said it is not on the database. The fact that he was TPO meant he could not claim anyway.
