On a few occasions over the last few days I think the front wheel locked briefly. juddering from the front and I eased off - is this a case of too sharp on the front lever or not balanced between back and front?

I'm trying to balance braking and down gearing and want to perfect it.

No twitching from the rear to report.

Down gearing... I think i'm dumping the clutch as all weight is going to the front of the bike, I was scared to try and balance the throttle incase it shot forward when trying to slow down - is this a bad practice? It never lost balance, engine braking was mingled with a dab of back and front brakes.

Cornering, well practice makes perfect they say.

I'm looking ahead and marking the corner - it's hard to take your eyes off the corner though and i'm easing in the throttle to bring me round. Only a few times I found I was in the wrong gear.

question is, some corners i'm backing off and putting the weight on the front so generally, any tips?

I'm off to clean my bike after my 600 mile marathon from dorset to devon to tyne and wear and appreciate any replies.

cheers
