Quite an eye opener this is:

https://www.rense.com/general72/size.htm

check out how big we are to the sun here:

https://www.rense.com/1.imagesH/13db967.jpg

Then compare the sun to Antares:

Is Antares, Sirius and all those other circles actual planets or are they 'red suns' I think they call them? Or do we not know what the surface is like on them?

The others shown are all suns, I believe.

Can remember someone had done a thing with mirrors to give you an idea of the size of the sun to earth - a box with mirrors in reflected a curved surface so that it appeared to be a lot bigger, then had an image of the earth unrefected to give scale - was quite impressive in the realtive vastness.

Apparently Antares is 9120 more luminous than our sun. I wonder what factor sun cream you'd need in that heat... Thinking

something just occured to me, I probably should really know this but what powers the sun and these other super suns? What keeps them burning and why doesnt the whole planet just burn up?

Erm, if you mean by 'planet', 'sun' - then they do. It's just that they take a long time to do it because there's so much stuff to get through.

I believe red stars are older stars that have expanded as they have got less dense thanks to burning off a lot of their mass.

The 'burning' reaction is nuclear fusion:

As they say its a small world.

Normally when you go away you bump into someone that you know, bit of a pain since you go away to get away from them!

It's a small world but I wouldn't like to paint it.

When i was a little younger, i actually lost out on alot of sleep because this thought was in my mind. My school teachers worried because i wouldnt be all there, and they phoned home once or twice to find out if everything is ok at home.

I have no idea why, but it tormented me like hell...
Threw me into a weird drepression-like state i suppose, but it did teach me a few things, i take things much more in my stride now, rather than getting so uptight.

I reckon God got all the play-dough out of the shop for his homework and made big, satisifying stuff. like everyone likes really big stuff.

but then it got to crunch time and he's like 'shit, haven't done me homework yet..better crack it out'

so he makes earth really fucking wee.

well, they can't go wrong with that much he thunketh to himself.

It gets even more mind bending if you start trying to imagine the distances between everything.

Try and find scale images of that! Shocked
