Practical Test Question (Money Wise)

Hi all. I have been making great progress with my driving, and my instructor thinks I should book my test on Thursday. The problem is, I don't have a bank account just yet (still waiting for ID to be sent out). I had to use my mates account to pay for the theory. Can someone tell me how many days before the actual test does the money come out of the account?

I believe they take the money as soon as you book it.

Can't you pay by cash or postal order?

No, pretty sure paying it by bank is the only way. It's no trouble, he'll let me. I was just wondering when it was they take it out. For some reason, I thought it was a couple of days before.
