i wonder can anyone help me.

i got a 2003 honda lifan (lf150-a)

my insurance are being pains in the asses. they have never heard of this bike and i am having probs insuring it. i faxed them the tax book and thought that was it but now they want to know if it is the prince or the king model or i cant get insured. i have looked at the manuel,tax book and all round the bike and i cant find that information anywhere?

can anyone help?

i hopefully will soon get a pic of this bike up as soon as i find my camara.

This is an educated guess, but i'd say its the prince, based on its a pretty simple type bike (i dont know the name of the style) and i'd guess that the "king" would be a bit more luxurious.

You could get the frame number and send it to the manufacturer asking them what model it is

i think you may be right there actually. i seen a pic of one that was gold and had top box and rack system, lots of extras. so i think i may have the prince. i have to be sure though.

the reason they havent heard of this is it's not an actual honda, it's like hongda or something? or just the make is lifan.

You may have trouble too, if your pulled by the Fuzz as you Tax disc has the wrong description of bike on it. Confused

you get it insured as a honda, you're not covered to ride it. it's not a honda, it's a lifan. so the description you give to get a policy will not be the bike you have the accident on and wont be covered.
there is an insurance company that specialises in imported bikes who other companies have ever heard of, but you'll pay shed loads on the policy/compulsary excess.

Fook me!!! SORRY!! Its my age..or something else making me blind!! Rolling Eyes It's not Honda its Hongda wich is OK for th Tax as it is a branch of Lifan (well I think its the export department as i can't read Chinese).

Worst comes to worst insure it as a Special/custom/chop try a few other insurers who offer insurance for such vehicles also find out who the uk main importer is as they will know an insurer(s).
