My old 50cc said 65 once but generally 50-55 on moped speedo means 45-50 real speed which is damn good for a 50!! |

Depending on what model you go for it will be diffreent and different restrictions will need to be removed .
The Aerox for example is a simple washer in the variator & cone in the exhaust - 15 minutes to remove !
The Katan on the other hand is restricted in it the CDI unit which must be replaced and it has low gearing as standard .
A fully derestricted 50 , like an Aerox will just about keep up with a stock 100cc model .
But remember your braking the law by derestricting it anyway - instant ban if caught out ____________________ Bike History:- Vision / Phantom 100 / Aerox 100 / Runner VX125 / Honda VFR400 NC24 / Kwak ZX9R B3 / Honda CBR600 F / ZZR400 & K2 GSXR 750 / Suzuki VZ800 |

I doubt a garage would do it for you if they knew you weren't 17.
50cc scooters generally do about 30-35mph restricted and 45-50mph derestricted.
I see no point in getting it restricted, in 30s and 40s you'll be able to keep up with most of the traffic and you'll have no chance of keeping up in nationals regardless of whether you're doing 35 or 45. Is it worth invalidating your CBT and your licence should anything go wrong? Also instant ban if you get snapped on a speed camera going faster than your bike should be able to. ____________________ My bike: Suzuki Bandit 600 (33bhp)
