Hello,

I really would say thanks for the site owner that this site is working and running. I've never found exact solution for this problem. Everywhere people wrote that yeah, the rear damper is too soft and so on.
I've been looking the solution for this a long time. But as you all XR125L owners that the rear damper can not be adjusted which is bad. I've bought this motorcycle over a year ago and I've pretty satisfied with this bike exept the rear damper bothers me.
In other forums I heard something about the "race sag" but I didn't understood what it means and how useful is this.
The problem started from that I needed to replace my rear tyre with newer one. I didn't find the original tyre because it has not been sold there where I looked it. So I decided to put a little bit wider tyre 120/90 17' and then the problems came. The rear wheel started to run into the plastic things. (I don't know how to express myself better.)
For better view I put some pictures...
Pictures what the tyre has done with it
AND And other pictures about my motorcycle

So XR125L owners let's talk about it. What have you done with the rear damper that it would be more strong and so on. In Estonia this bike has been a short while sold and here aren't many XR125L owners with who I can share this problem.
Thank you!

You may be able to chop and change the shock with another similair styled bike, although you need a pretty decent sized, well equipped workshop and you yourself will need to be pretty handy with the tools to do it

Maybe take off your top box, having such a weight extended beyond the rear of the bike is bound to upset its balance and weight distribution.

There is no solution to this problem. Xr's are built to a price, and as such, there's very little you can do to it. If the wheels are rubbing into your undertray (plastic things) - just remove the undertray. OR get a jigsaw and just cut it out entirely. It's best to keep youre 110 section tyre on the back because clearance will be an issue.

Xr's are fun bikes, but don't expect the amount of adjustability to that of a superbike!

Keep it stock, sell it for a better bike. If you don't like the rear shock, so be it, learn to cope with it, or even better, learn to only use your front wheel - stoppie everywhere!

Thank you all for your postings.
This cut out thing I'll consider, if I don't find a better solution.

The second thing which came to my head is this..Has someone changed out the rear damper to a better one? Öhlins and so on...
I must consider to put back the old tire with the original size.

Hello,

now it looks that I have found a solution for the problem.
I put a new tire 120/80-17 DURO and it seem it fits.

Does anyone know that is the Pirelli MT60 is out of production. That these tires pirelli doesn't do.
I heard his information from my local tyre dealer.
Thatswhy I put this "street" tyre.

And I would like to lissen other XR125L owner answers that what kind tyre they have replaced. It looks that all tyres don't fit there.
The problem is posted in this topic. Wink

I have a honda XR125L and recently replaced the tyres for the standard Pirrelli MT60's!!!. They are easily avaliable in the UK. You can also get the corsa version which is a softer compound.
As far as i know they haven't been discontinued, the ones that have are a very similar name, MT50's or 40's i believe.
