I have a quick question about the MOT test. I am currently rebuilding a GPz 750 and It is pretty close to being complete. The bike comes as standard with twin front calipers and a single caliper on the rear. I have one caliper on the front and the rear rebuilt but i dont have the parts to get the other front caliper finished. There is currently only one front caliper fitted to the bike. Can I take it for its MOT test in this condition? (it has decent stopping power, new pads, braided hoses, front and rear master cylinders rebuilt)
thanks in advance. ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |

Yeah, they used to make some bikes with only a single disc fitted but lugs for callipers on both forks.
Providing it passes the brake test you should be fine, and if my T500 passes the test, anything will.
There is also the factor of the MOT tester. Take it to one who isn't a dick and knows something about slightly older or custom motorbikes. It is not unheard of for MOT testers to make things up that aren't in the manual, especially ones working in main dealers or car mechanics who do bike MOTs on the side.
Doesn't a GPz 750 have anti-dive forks? You got these connected/properly blanked off? (could be a sticking point). ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Yeah it does have anti dive but theyre blanked off just with screws in the top. I was considering making some blanking plates with a channel cut into them, so i could remove the anti dive units entrirely, but I havent got round to it yet. ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |
