This isnt a story which is really directed to bikes, But I was on a bike at the time so I guess that counts
Im not really a racist, I have a few black friends, one of them Ive known since a couple of months after I was born. I must admit I have been a bit funny around the typical indian/simarlian type people lough, After my friend was stabbed and robbed and left to die by what he recals as "at least 15 of them" when he was walking his broken down ped home, And me being started on by a group of wonnabe gangster asians, Infact I think I really was turning into a racist!
Anyway, I was down Halfords today, buying a brake bleeding tool. When I was approached by a lad bout my age who just said I dropped some cash and someone just picked it up. We went outside and the guy was no where to be seen, I felt pretty sick as that was the first bit of disposible income ive had in a while and I atleast wanted to spend it on somthing Id use!
Anyway we decided the mateys obviously run off with it and thats the last Ill be seeing of that, so I went back into Halfords, Found what I wanted but I obviously didnt have the money to buy it, noticed it was only £6 as well which took the piss. So I marched out got onto my bike, And this BIG black guy with a turban comes running towards me waving his arms ( he was about 40 years old and when I say big, I mean BIG ) I thought oh shit I ant got a chance here...
Anyway he said he was searching for me in every shop as he lost me in Halfords, just to give me back a £20, He was a parking attendent person so he ant exactly going to be loaded, and could of easily put it in his pocket.
I told him how thankful I was and all that and he seemed a nice guy even lough I could barely understand him, Said somthing like "I wanted to make sure it went back to the right person, even lough I didnt know what he looked like!".
Probably a boring waste of time for you reading this, But this really touched me, and reminded me that everyone is differnt, no matter what background they look like there from. And you just dont get that type of honesty around the place where I live. |

isnt the silmarillion from the lord of the rings series?
And why do you keep typing lough instead of though. Its a very bizarre cock up. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

about 6 years ago I got a taxi back from Brighton after a night out with mates I was visiting for the weekend. The driver was a young lad who was apparently 'working for his dad's firm' (Illegal cab bassically)
He spoke reasonable english and we had a bit of light hearted banter with him on the way back and managed to knock down the fare to £25 which is usually at least £35.
Out of drunken stupidity I had withdrawn £100 in cash at a petrol station on the way home leaving about £10 in my account for the next two weeks. (I was young stupid and on drugs).
I woke up the next day feeling dreadfull and realised that my wallet was lost. I was suffering a pill induced come down combined with hangover and the prospect of the rest of a long weekend with no cash.
I thought I might have dropped it in the cab but had no number obviously.
That same afternoon the Hove police called to say the wallet had just been handed in, complete with my £90 odd change from my share of the cab fare!
I was very relieved but also very suprised and touched by it. It totally went against all my expectations.
He must have gone out of his way to hand it in and probably also didn't even want to speak to the police.
It's good to know that there are genuinely decent people around. ____________________ GSXR600 |

I thought I put it clearly I wasnt a racist, espcially after this incident. Yes a group of blacks attacked my friend and another group started on me, and I have never had that problem with white people here. Its how I felt at the time. But this was a reminder that you cant judge people by what they look like.
And you say im a racist |
