Well maybe not everyone but over the last week or so, since the sun has gotten its hat on I've never seen so much stupid riding in all my life.
I'm caging it just now due to the lack of bike this summer but when the sun is out I've seen some really idiotic riding and its scarey....
Now I'm sure I've done the same over the last few years but I would say I have a high sense of self preservation than some of the folk I've seen recetly..
Anyone else seen the same? Had at least 4 bikers this week come close to hitting me or the car at the opposite end of the road just being too impatient or fcuking stupid to realise whats going on around them!!
Not looking to be flamed but sometime the sense of occasion gets too much for some folk and its 110% throttle and stupidity too much of the time..
Stay safe folks. ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

I was called mental by a friend who I unwittingly overtook, fairly rapidly, and he claims, far too close. Overtakes are an addiction, but I don't think that I'm being overly silly as far as taking risks goes.
It's to be expected, I booked my bike into the mechanics in early April, about a week ahead of schedule. Now, when it was out, I asked about putting it back in for a service, and he said I'd have at least a months wait, because he was overflowing with MOTs. It's all the fair weathers who throw off the dust cover and find their bike won't start. And they're used to the low attention needed to drive a car. So they pay similar attention to the road when riding a bike; unfortunately, that's not much good. It's these sorts of riders who I believe bump up our insurance premiums, by not stepping back into the bike slowly, and getting a feel for it again, after the 'cold' months. Then they go and write off a Mercedes, and we pay through the nose for it. |

Saw my first case of what I call the 'classic summer cocks' today, some guy on a big ugly looking.... thing, you know the ones with foot pedals out wide that you have to take your feet off to use the gear selection/brake? Anyway he pulled up at the lights next to a rather drab looking Saxo with a bean can exhaust, I pulled up behind him and well it wasn't going to be a challenge for either of us to be away before the Saxo. However this guy in his jeans and t-shirt put way too much power down and his huge back end swerved/kicked up shit and he nearly lost it in front of me so then I had to concede defeat to the saxo for fear of this guy ballsing up and taking me out too.
Still see all my regular commuting aquaintences but the Tesco motorcycle parking is getting overcrowded and there do seem to be more maniacs getting back on the road, just gotta be extra vigilant I guess ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

I ride fast but I know when to stop, I hit 100mph on a rs125 in 30 areas but I know when to stop.
Problem is people get into overtaking cars and stuff and as soon as they get stuck behind a bus there wanting to overtake it even if theres a blind bend coming, Whats the fucking point. Saw this dude in a full suit ( work suit, u no, the fancy tie and everything ) riding some sort of kawaski ( It was pretty newm bought 04 ) and he was filtering threw traffic, Fair enough he was going a bit quick but we all do that. Then he came to the last row of cars and couldnt fit threw the gap, and was constantly reving his engine and driving forward then reversing inbetween these 2 cars... Why did he not just stop behind them or use his brain and cut across the back of them to get round them I dont know.
Everyone thinks, "OH ITS SUMMER, I WANT TO DO 200MPH, LETS BUY THE BIGGEST BIKE I CAN GET" They take it out, get confident and then they come out of a courner doing 80mph and wonder what the fuck to d owhen there rear wheel steps out.
Unless you got unbeleavabley good self-control I suggest to stick to a 125 for a year unless you dont value your life that much. |

Yeah I (despite being fairly annoyed by the summer squad and their usual riding habits) nearly ended up going head first into a car a week ago, my excuse was that I went to overtake a bus on a road I ride every day, I had plenty of time before the car would get anywhere near me, it was a textbook (to me) overtake that I know I could make and have done a hundred times, but this is when my clutch slipping problem first manifested its self, worst timing ever, alongside a bus with no acceleration left. :'<
Luckily the car slowed to allow me to make the overtake at a slightly slower speed than usual, and equally luckily it was someone I knew (hooray for small villages and all) who I got the chance to apologise to and thank and explain myself too. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

I've gotten used to this, never having ridden my bike without a slightly slippy clutch. You've just got to compensate; it might take you an extra second to overtake. It sounds like yours is worse than mine though, I don't often have trouble, it just revs up high and then dips again. |

I’m sure that these sort of people account for a lot of these crashes we hear about, I think big twins are in this summer, I’ve heard more than ever recently and they aren’t hanging about.
I saw some guy with matching leathers to a white and red R6, it did look pretty good but he was the worst person at filtering I’ve seen for a long time, looked like he’d been on a bike for an hour.
Around this time last year I was on a ride out with some bikers I know locally, they obviously had other mates and these guys were nuts, although their riding seemed stable enough they pulled off some manoeuvres I wouldn’t have even thought about. When I stopped at the garage with them (a few minutes after they stopped) I didn’t say much but I think the look on my face said it all, they might be older guys who think they got balls but I’d be seriously pissed off if my ride out was cut short because he’s under a car for a stupid blat on a blind bend. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

It's always the same at this time of year, I had some plank on a Hornet 900 come up behind me yesterday on the way home (in case you're reading, you're a tw@t, A326, yesterday, about 5 pm) and then sit dead in line with me, about two feet from my rear wheel. I could only see him in my mirrors if I moved right over to one side.
This was as I was waiting for a safe gap in the traffic to overtake a van, there was nowhere for me to go. I thought about moving over and letting him go but we were just coming up to one of my favourite roundabouts so I though 'let's see if you're as good round corners as you are on the straights'. If he'd still been on my tail out of the roundabout, I'd have moved over to let him by. Suffice to say that he wasn't even close I never saw him again after that.
Mind you, having said that there are loads of idiots out and about, I'd like to take my hat off to the NSR125 rider I was following this morning on the same road, I came up behind him and he was doing a good job of holding his road position, then did plenty of checks before a couple of overtakes. As soon as he had a decent gap, he moved over and let me by. He was on L plates as well, top riding newbie fella
Cheers
