Was on the motorway t'other day, tooling it back home.

Traffic builds up and I'm forced to slow down and keep my distance in the 'speeding' lane

Traffic in front clears a little and I'm ready to get my barnet down again - quick check behind first reveals a volvo with a pair of boys in blue munching the fast lane behind me.

So I ease off and slip into the middle lane, keeping up with the flow.

high vis estate car pulls in front and slows down, as does rest of traffic.

Then into inside lane - I follow suit. continues like this for a few miles.

Then traffic car takes a slip exit.

Traffic picks up pace, I bide my time, nothing seen in mirrors on the trunk road from the last junction - so I get back into the freak position and gun it.

Horizon appears quickly, open road, get the hammer down, quick check in mirrors reveals same boys in their swedish brick hammering about 500yds out of the tarmac to gain on me with their christmas lights on full show.

So I ease off, slowing down as I take the middle lane again.

in a jiffy i'm back in the world of cars rolling along the inside lane...

Boys in blue keep lights on - big swallow and watch the mirrors - boys cruise past at a less catchy catchy speed and give me a look that says 'yer leaving our county and we didnt get a fix on ya, ya lucky git'

Chuckle to myself as they take the next slip road.

then I read threads like this https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=83239 and just chuckle again. yeah, they 'look' cool.

but... you wont be looking cool in yer leather's and helmet when on the bus mate with nowt but a bus pass to show off - you'll see nowt in those tiny things
