Heya.

Ive got a pretty worn out rear tyre ( about 1mm or less in the middle )

Thing is the outsides are still nice ( Maybe I ride like a pussy Surprised ) so is it really that bad?

im gessing punctures are a bit more easy to have but could it be considerd dangerous in the rain or somthing?

Thing is I just ant got no cash to spend on a rear tyre for a couple of weeks

I'm in the same boat as you. If you're on a small bike you should be ok with a rear like that if you take it easy. If your front gets like then, then just don't ride it.

If you have a bit of a moment due to the rear tyre, just don't get back on 'till the tyre is changed, the inconvenience of a bus is far less than that of a trashed bike.

Hi

Yes might well cause problems in the wet. Also illegal.

All the best

1.6mil I thought.

FYI the middle of my tyre is down to the membrane in places. I don't ride it more than I have to, but I haven't had any dodgy moments as far as grip it concerned (where grip matters, I shouldn't be on that part of the tyre anyway), and I don't really go anywhere where the police are swarming.

think the compound gets hard when a normal tyre goes bald, dosent seem to heat up like it used to.
when i had a bald Rennsport it used to spin up all the time.

£100 on a new tyre, or £3000 on a new bike because you stacked it in the wet.

I know which one I'd choose...

And don't say that you can't afford it. Thats what credit cards are for! Smile

I changed my tyre on thursday cos it was bald ( see my post 'tyre to inspire') today i was booked for speeding, yes 3 points & £60 fixed penalty, it would have been worse with a bald tyre!

Words of wisdom with einsight as an added benefit.

Don't get caught! Wink
