OK.
here's the story.
I'm being as accurate as possible. The bike is in Newcastle upon Tyne.
this is a good little bike and is cheap for someone who wants a low mileage reliable machine for cheap.
I bought this bike in Nov 2004.
It was stolen recovered.
I had intended to ride this bike before passing a DAS course but I became ill. I have just passed my test recently and have bought a bigger bike, so it is surplus to requirements.
I have a V5 for the Bike. it will be sold with a full MOT if I get a good offer.
It had sat in the recovery yard for 6 months and had been at the breakers for 12 months. A local lad bought it and it sat in his garage for 6 months.
Therefore, this bike was on the road for about 12 months before it was lifted. the engine is absolutely pukka.
It hasnt been on the road since and has been in my garage since Nov 2004.
I has not been dropped. It had had the lights and clock removed and the tank and plastics sprayed grey primer, by the thieves. The police recovered the vehicle off some young lads on a field a few months after it was nicked. The exhaust has scratches on it - what you would expect from kids handling a machine in and out of a back yard etc. the bike must have had a security chain on the front wheel - when this was ripped off they damaged some spokes which were replaced professionally to balance the wheel. The lower end of the front fork has marks where the chain was ripped off, cosmetic only.
I have replaced all the lights and basically put the bike back to road worthy condition. Engine has been tuned/timed and runs sweet as a nut and is, well, brand new. Front fork seals were replaced professionally.
I painted the tank and plastics in origibal blue again and put decals on it - not perfect if i may add but acceptable.
The bike was then taken for an MOT and PASSED immediately. This mot has since expired and I will renew - or you can take it away as is and DIY for less asking price.
The clock is a universal jobby and needs to be honest a correct replacement as I had to use led's fastened to a plate for the oil light, indicators, neutral etc.
The bike has done about 50 miles since it was put back on the road, and due to my circumstances was never used. shame.
Now the bad bit - I never got round to putting petrol resistant laquer on the tank and the paint needs redoing - also, while I was ill with kidney stones my cousin moved the bike - got petrol on his gloves and tattied it up a bit - but it needs a little rub down and repsray. A morning's work.
That's it basically.... I was just going to paint it matt black but hey - it's ready for the summer.

I'm open to offers - this bike needs to go and be used after its sorry history - the engine (i was told when it was tuned up) is fresh and punchy and can't had done more than a couple of K.
Whilst it may not 'look' 100% and original it is safe and mechanically sound - just needs a little finishing to be 100%. I'm an ex RAF aircraft mechanic and wouldnt get on anything that was dangerous myself!
cheers
Karl
