Hi, as some of you may know I recently crashed my ZXR400. So it gave me a reason to give it a ground up rebuild and sort out. It won't be a very long project maybe a week or two, but I thought I'd post up anyhow.
The furst stage was to strip it right back down to the bare bones, as I plan to give the engine head a bit of a clean out as well.
It is now day 4 of the project and I am already respraying of all the panels ready for the rebuild as I am waiting on parts to arrive such as the engine casing etc...
I have also decided to go for kawasaki green for the new colour as the purple I had before will be hard to match and I didn't really like it. Green isn't original but who cares, Ive got the FZR for originality Razz
The pictures are back to front also so view the bottom first, Thumbs Up Cheers Dan

Mate, i did my 250 in a similar kinda design albeit black with white numberboard/bellypan. All i can say is DO NOT go crazy with the decals. Once i get a decent enough camera, i'll show you the subtlety of having few decals but still making the bike stand out. Don't clutter the belly pan. Ideally decals should be limited to about 6, done in 2 or so rows of 3 sponsors. I'd be more inclined to put a ninja sticker where you put your silkolene or a "kawasaki" decal. That or just leave it clean.

Well the thing is I do have parts from most of the sponsors on the bike so didn't really think anything of it. On most of the zxr race bikes I have had in the past I have always stickered them up, but I do agree that I may have gone a little over board on this road bike Rolling Eyes I'll see what it looks like once the bike is all together, I may end up stripping all the stickers and leaving it with a black bellypan, Dan Thumbs Up

Hi, I used 2 pack spray. Leathal stuff but gives really good results. I got a litre of kawasaki green with thinners and hardner all for around £10, its useful knowing people in the right places, Razz

Well I have polished rims on the FZR, its a bit further down from this post. They look very nice but I found them a ball ache to keep shiny, and couldn't be bothered with the hassle Laughing . Also I don't think polished rims would have gone as well as they have done on your bike as you also have a polished frame which looks the dogs, Dan Thumbs Up
