Those lumpy fatty things under the skin, that lots of people have, are they called lipomas ?

I always called them cists, anyway, those lumpy things which are quite harmless, can they sometimes cause problems?

Cos, I keep getting pins and needles in my left hand, specially the little finger, and ring finger and part of the palm. On the inside of my elbow, right over the join, there is quite a large flat cist thing. Can these things cause pins and needles?

I've had it on and off for at least a month now. At first I put it down to stinging nettles, when I was coming home from the pub. Confused

It's getting really annoying. I guess if it is that, there's nout the NHS would do about it?

I'm no doctor but i do know one of your main arteries runs down your left arm and usually pins and needles is a sign of heart problems...Perhaps worth seeing someone about

pins and needles is cause by a lack of blood flow to a part of the body (lack of oxygen) to be honest i would get it checked out, could be nothing, but it could be something, and nhs is free so you wont loose anything by getting it checked.[/quote]

If we want to get bitchy about it...pins and needles is blood getting back into a blood deprived area. I would give my opinion but you haven't give me much to go on and it could be almost anything. But I'll have a go.

Anyway, mainly, pins and needle in the fingers is usually caused by prior blood blockage to the area via the humerol-radial (or humeral-ulna, can't remember now) artery. Maybe this 'cist' as you call it has grown to a significant size to put pressure on this artery and restrict blood flow.

Does this happen when you exercise or use you arms more?

Also, don't worry, pins and needles is NOT a sign of heart problems!!
