Got invited on a ride out by the garage I bought the GSXR at. I got there early and saw the owners awesome modded 'busa and a modded Gixer thou.

https://img129.imageshack.us/img129/6601/pict0001medium6sq.jpg
Pointless mirrors but nice bikes

https://img147.imageshack.us/img147/4435/pict0002medium2wv.jpg
k4 1000

https://img141.imageshack.us/img141/7089/pict0013medium1ki.jpg
Tarty rear of the k4

'Busa

Now the thing I liked about the busa was the huge rear tyre it was a 300.

Also the thing that made me look twice was the twin chain rear drive never seen that before.

https://img106.imageshack.us/img106/4453/pict0009medium4cb.jpg

Once I was done perving over the two stretched bikes the other riders showed up.

https://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2943/pict0021medium7hv.jpg
Nice bike a gixer 750 with a mixture of chrome and gold mods.

https://img164.imageshack.us/img164/6135/pict0024medium4js.jpg
Gsxr 600 that has seen track action also sounded nice as feck

https://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6640/pict0029medium5ly.jpg
Another gix of the day was a very nice k5 gixer 1000.

https://img95.imageshack.us/img95/7235/pict0017medium5sn.jpg
A nice Zed Ex the guy who rid this was a nutter and a great rider.

https://img148.imageshack.us/img148/5008/pict0026medium3hs.jpg
RVT 1000 also another nice sounding bike.

https://img148.imageshack.us/img148/1592/pict0027medium2ii.jpg
The owner of this r6 was also a nutter and a great rider Laughing

https://img469.imageshack.us/img469/8837/pict0031medium8ha.jpg

So 9 of us all together. We set of at about 9.15 to lake lure (I think it was called) which was about a 45 mins (once again I think lol) from Gastonia. On the way I got to watch 4 of the riders (names withheld) mess about and wheelie along waving to the cars they passed on the high-way, best one was where the guy on the zed ex pulled up along side every one and grabed the front brake locking his front wheel quickly to make it squeal so you look at him and think wtf, then he moves onto the next person in the line. And your just left there with a stupid look on your face.

Another good bit was when they were slaloming through the lines on the road.

https://img163.imageshack.us/img163/7307/pict0043medium2wx.jpg
Not normally one who takes a liking to the outdoors but I must admit the weather was awesome, and riding through the mountains here is recommended to every one I wish I could of stopped at some places to take pics of how great it was.

My bike for the win

https://img469.imageshack.us/img469/7979/pict0040medium5tv.jpg
This pic shows the size of the busa's rear tyre compared to the stock gsxr's tyre size on the right. The guy in the hat owns the busa the two men speaking told us about a route I regret going on.

Before setting off, every one filled up on gas. Nothing like the noise of 9 bikes, 8 of which had race cans filling up a tiny petrol station.

https://img302.imageshack.us/img302/7506/pict0041medium8qp.jpg
Thanks to the owner of the green zed ex for paying for my tank of gas, still owe you one mate. He didnt even take the money I offered him.

The fun part:

30 mins in to the ride, I come off. Came into a corner way to fast (well it was to me) and there was gravel on the road or something I lost it going off road into what is best described as a gravel drive way I target fixated on the dumpster as it was directly in front of me and lost it completely. I thought I was going head first into it some how I didnt hit it but ended up on the floor next to it with my bike Laying next to me. If I would of gone head first I would of really gave a meaning to the term "binning it" lol.

Dont remember much before or after this part but I remember hitting the ground then laying there looking at the sky and hearing the owner of the r6 asking if I was okay. I got up a little bit after to find my visor ripped from my helmet. My helmet has a nice crack in it and some how the visor was unharmed. My jacket saved my ass all I have is a little bit of a burn where my arm rubbed the armour inside. By the looks of the marks on my helmet and jacket I landed on my head / shoulder first as I have very little damage to my boots there is a few scratchs and my right one is dirty as hell.

https://img78.imageshack.us/img78/4723/crash6oy.jpg
The dumpster of DOOM!

Now I didnt know any of these people and they all came back when two of us went missing. It really shows that some bikers in the USA are just as they are in the Uk and I really appreciate the help they gave me yesterday. Top blokes the lot of them.

Oh by the way guess what I broke.....

https://img527.imageshack.us/img527/265/pict0046medium6hn.jpg

Yep the same indicator my old man broke and if you look under the suzuki name 2 engine bolts pushed threw the faring although the crash bungs saved my bike from a lot more damage. But the camera wont pick up the scratchs done to the paint.

After farting about for about 15 mins trying to get the visor back on my helmet. I felt like I could ride the rest of the way.... so I did, bad idea with a broken lid I know but what else did I have to do. To be honest I didnt see the crack till I got home.

I had some how lost all confidence in my self when It came to the corners and some of them were tight hair pin style turns with a sheer drop down one side. In one of them I braked late and nearly went right over the edge Im cringing now just thinking about how close I came to falling over the edge. (bet some of you wished it had happend ay Wink )

The last time I attacked twisties like this I was on a rs125, and I had forgot every thing I was not looking through corners or nothing. I felt a right prat.

But thanks to the people I was riding with for pushing me on. Although now the adrenaline had worn off and my neck legs and arms were hurting something special.

https://img119.imageshack.us/img119/9341/pict0048medium5bt.jpg

Didnt come out as I had hoped but still good, there is a drop the other side of that curb and the pussy in me I just edged towards it and peeked down I think the elevation was 3500 feet or something to that effect at that point. And after hearing all the jokes about me if it was that place I went down out etc was a great laugh.

We ended up going to the top of the mountain which was freezing while parking up these 2 birds got out of a car in really short shorts and small t-shirts while we were all freezing our arses off.

We ended up going into the restaurant to eat although, I just wanted a drink and some pain killers. Which I was given, thank you. Also got a free coke with a refill for free.

Now the way down would of looked ace on a front mounted camera. It was some amazingly tight bends that you can literally of got your knee down on every turn. But me wearing jeans didnt to be honest I would of wanted too. I was still in scared from my little crash lol.

Once again we stopped for gas then went about another 30 - 40 mins we stopped and relaxed for a while. I was far behind as I got scared at every turn lol.

https://img316.imageshack.us/img316/5890/pict0049medium1wa.jpg
My bike next to busa.

https://img135.imageshack.us/img135/982/pict0050medium8ud.jpg

The ride home was uneventful apart from being shouted at by some kids from a an RV.

Spent from 9am to 7pm out on the bike I think the total trip came to 275 miles I enjoyed every second of it (except the crash).

Going to get a new lid today I hope.

Sorry for the lack of pics towards the end but after the crash I cant remember most of the day. I remember taking pics of what looked like clouds forming below us although it may of been fog.

Altough I did let down the English side when it came to riding but hey im still a newb. I did learn alot and got alot more to learn. Also thanks to them for being patient and waiting for me. They were all way better riders than me and I know I held them up but they still waited.

Also since waking up my right hands index, middle, and ring finger are numb its like I can still feel put real bad pins and needles when I touch something.

Great pictures by the way, good to see someone in the world is having nice weather unlike us people in the UK.

That 'busa is like an ugly bird with a smokin' body. You'd ride it all night long, but you'd be scared to look at it for fear of throwing up.

Still, looks like a fun day out Thumbs Up

I think it's come time for mcgee to get "this way up" stickers fitted to the belly of his bike Razz

Swaffs I was thinking about this yesterday Thinking I will go back there before the next ride out just to be ready for it Mr. Green I think its because I was playing keep up that all of it happend. And fear I dont know what fear is Shifty

Most of the corners were real brown trouser moments. No barriers and sheer drops of the side. One of the better moments was the damp wooden bridge that went over a small river the guy on the zed ex went side ways along it Laughing .

https://img147.imageshack.us/img147/961/scaredshitless0vb.jpg

That was just one of the many sections of roads we used, was mental and one road was nothing but switch backs.

Im trying to remember the whole route and highlight it in autoroute.
