seen a post about helmets or 'lids' to the enlightened bikers. im thinking of getting a new one but the shops here are seriously expensive compared to online, plus not a lot to choose from. ideally dont want to spend more that £150 and would like a flip front as i wear specks etc. ive tried on differnt brands and sizes but even some same brands are ill fitting with different sizes? what i mean is i tries an aria large then an arie xl and the xl was tighter!

whats the best way to measure your size? crown? i have a fat face and a big head to boot! most ones that fit snug are tight on my face as in bite my cheecks.

im wearing a zues just now and its fine on but i got it free with my bike and it has no size?

would really like one a them scary looking ones roof or is it rat?

any advise peeps?

cheers

Steve

The only proper way to size yourself up is to try it on in person. Just be cheeky and go round the stores, then buy online.

.....And take the risk the one they send is the same size as the one you tried on. No 2 helmets are the same size and feel different when wearing them. Personally I would never buy something that important over the net, I'd rather go find the perfect fitting helmet and buy it there and then. Wink

I'm fairly confident buying a helmet online when I've tried on the same model before.

However no way I would just measure my head and order one - as all people have different shape helmets, different manufacturers and models have different shapes - you need it to match your head shape.

Best bet is to get to a shop with a load of helmets, try on as many as possible, then order online.
