need to replace my tyres, which are the best ones to get. I want to get a bigger tyre for the rear, as i am used to this from the hornet i used to have, is it possible to get a larger tyre for the rear, and any particular ones in mind. im looking for good robust tyres that can take some mileage on them, as i will be doing a good few ride outs when the weather gets better.

regards

Wink

i did have a set of pilot sports on my srad but rear wore down quicker(as they do) so replaced it with a pilot power & its very sticky!! Thumbs Up good in wet & dry BUT being a soft compound tyre it also wears alot quicker

so up to you on that one! but i think having more grip is more important on a bike then having longer lasting(as it IS your contact to the road & on 2wheels its even MORE important)

hard compound = crap grip but long lasting

soft compound = good grip but dont last AS long

you do get inbetweens, etc but its all down to what you want out of it but being a srad its all about the MAXIMUM grip! Thumbs Up Mr. Green

as for a bigger tyre i aint to sure but iv heard you can put a 750 srad wheel on the back to have a bigger tyre but it aint worth the hassle unless you come across one for cheap or nothing then go for it
Thumbs Up

Suzuki had 010s, and was tempted by the 014s but uses his bike for work and other long journeys.

The 014s are a really soft compound so you may find they don't last very long.

Since then he's had two sets of Avon Vipers on, which have been utterly fantastic. They wear well...

Clicky for his review

Oh, he also had a replacement tyre for free when his original suffered a puncture. Nice Very Happy

Yes those are the boys!

I didn't think Jon paid that much for them. He bought them and had them fitted at a local tyre place (Wheelhouse) - might be worth getting a few other quotes for them.

The 014s certainly are fantastic tyres if you are only going to use the bike on nice twisty roads Very Happy

no i use my bike all the time, so they would not last. the funny thing is the bloke at the garage asked me what i wouldl like, and i said i wanted tyres that would last, over being extra soft compound.
