Wasn't quite his decision, but its good to hear. Ferrari have 2 more Contract to F1 racers out and rossi was being pushed out. I think he cancelled before he was told he didn't get a spot. Especially if Schuey doesnt win this Season as he has another 2-Year contract on the books...

Personally i dont understand the move really, even though he is fast than some F1 racers right out, he should (if he wants the challenge) go woth one of the lower teams and build them up using his skill. Hes given Yam a boost up the food chain so h should give another team a chance i rekon.
