hey, i'm prety crap at mechanical stuff, but was wondering how difficult it was to fit 2sets of led indicators on a gpz500s, as the current ones are chunky as hell and a bit scraped/battered. Do you need ones with specific connecters? and am i correct in thinking i'm going to need an led relay instead of the current one?
and also, i've seen plastic cap sort things to give a nice finish where the indicator meets the fairing, motrax do some but really only for decent bikes, any idea where i could get some special ones? or should i just opt for the universal ones?

thanks alot! Smile

You could probably make your own. Just buy a few super-bright LEDs (they were 50p each a few years ago when I last bought some) connect them all in parallel with a resistor before them (maybe about 330ohms, but possibly wrong) and it should be ok I'd imagine. Just use the original wires that the bulb used to go through.

All of that is based on the indicator bulbs being supplied with 12v, though Razz

The only problem with LED indicators is that you have to either put a resistor in before the connectors, or you put in a new relay. If you don't do this then the indicators will flash too fast. Otherwise I found them easy to fit, just take your time!

If the connectors don't fit, then its easy enough just to change the connectors, simply cut the old ones off and replace them with some new connectors from halfords or something...

Or you could just throw on some small Bulb indicators...?

Thats the second easiest option Thumbs Up

The easiest is to simply stick with the standard ones Laughing

You don't need a new relay but you will need to know someone who is handy with a soldering iron. What you need is two 3.6 ohm, 2 watt power resistors which have to be connected in parallel with two of the new indicators. I've fitted a few sets of these now and it's not too difficult.

Cheers
