Scrubbing up after winter....

Just spent a long while cleaning the bike up for the MOT (Passed) and the bike is looking almost respectable now, apart from the baked on WD40, mud and other road muck up the front of the engine.

Any good tips for shifting this blackened mess and polishing out any corrosion? I tried the "Big orange can of GUNK (TM)" and it's shifted a reasonable amount of stuff but it's all ingrained in the engine fins and caked solid over the front of the block.

Didn't put it away, rode throughout winter. Now the "Protective" WD40 is baked on...

Ahh see now.

I usually leave mine baked on, after a few months it will wear off.....Not much help realy for you though is it.
