High rise bar conversion help needed

My other bike's a thunderace, which now is halfway towards being an evil streetfighter, meeting an awsome artist saturday to discuss art work. What i need is to find out how to convert it to high rise bars. 96 model, any links or product recomendations would be rewarded with male love. ahhhh yeah cheers kids

You've got a few options, You could either get your existing yokes drilled, and bar mounts fitted to them. Or you could get bar clamps which fit around your fork leg tops. The third, best and most expensive option is to get a yoke that is made specifically for the bike. All three of these things are in the M&P catalogue if you want to see what they look like or want to buy some.

The fork clamps work fine. You need at least 27mm of fork stanchion sticking out above the top yoke for them to get a good hold.

stinkwheel is right the clamps are a good option a couple of my mates have them on their fighters. You really do need to check that you have enough fork leg sticking out though or it can be grief getting them to fit.

cheers guys, a friend of mine has offered to weld me a piece, he's done it for years, but should i trust it, my gut is telling me stick with retail. can't sue friends if it falls apart.

Depends how good his welding is. The maximum force you're going to be putting through there is the amount you can exert with your arms, So I'd think welding should be fine. Might be an idea to also mill a section out of the top yoke for the clamp blocks to sit into, then you could bolt them on from underneath and weld the edges of them down for a belt and braces approach.

one of my best mates is an engineer(also fireblade rider) so the milling is probably a really good idea. Cheers, be looking good in no time
