What do you use, is there any other benefits to comprehensive other then getting ya bike fixed if you cause the accident/crash.

Just wondering, as the bike will be for pleasure on a sunday if you get my meaning, so the tpft option is very tempting, but ive always used fully comp on the car.

it just depends if you are willing to pay the extra money for full comp, personally I cant afford it (being 16 and all), so i just go for tpft.

I'd like fully comp, cause if I have a nasty spill and total my bike, the insurance company wont help me at all, so yeh I'd be pretty screwed. But tpft will do me well, as it covers me if i hit someone and if my bike bursts into flames, or is stolen.

Well, i can afford either, but I dont intend to do very high milage, and for a while im looking at a cheap bike (read 1500 or less), so if i crash/smash the bike, id rather just fix it, rather than claim on fully comp, lose no claims, bump up both my car and bike insurance etc etc.

Was this the vans fault? if so then I cant see how fully comp could help, as surely any compensation/bike repairs should come from his insurance? or have i missed something.

Insurance companies will effectivly loan you money which they subtract from your settlemant when the claim is finally settled.
And yes it was the vans fault he pulled out of a side road when i was coming off the A2

When I worked in insurance most bike owners went comp during the summer when riding on the roads and then tpft over the winter whilst its locked away. Saves money.

If you do this, do check with the company just incase you lose any ncd when you drop to tpft, some do that.

Usually if you insure it and you have ncd they will hold it on their records for 2 years, therefore you can go comp, tpft.

If you get what i'm babbling on about.

Go comp when your on the roads, you may be a fab rider, its the idiots around you that you have to worry about!!
