Hi all.

Myself and a mate are very interested in doing a trackday, neither of us have before, he used to ride a 600 (but has since lost his licence) and i have a GS500 (not the best of trackday weapons)... So idealy we would need somewhere that hires out bikes (600's would be ideal) and full leathers, less than 150 ish miles from london (give or take) and either doesent need a road licence or is not strict about it...

Are we looking for the impossible or does anyone know of any venues that can accomodate?

Cheers

Yes. Without a road or relevant acu licence your not considered fit to ride within feet of other riders at speeds of up to 160/170 mph (depending on track/bike).

Not suprising really. Even if he was banned for speeding, there's still a responsibilty issue to take into account.

His best bet is an ACU licence then he can go on ACU test days. Just be aware that those days will be full of racers going quick and wont want someone who's just out for a bit of fun getting in their way.

most trackday hire companies aren't tied to a particular track

a mate of mine hired (and crashed) and R6 from these people when we went to Cadwell last year

top service, they even gave him another bike for the second day

ACU option is not a good option really. It costs quite a bit - and luckily most test days these days are limited to those racing.
However, hottrax will now accept ACU licence for any group on their days, still probably not worth the hassle though. There are various other ways that it could be blagged.

Hire bike comapnies are often loosley affiliated with trackday organisers.
You will be able to hire a bike for any trackday, pretty much.
