Just in case anyone has missed it, and I cant seem to find any others threads about this, but Tourist Trophy for the PS2 has officially been released today in the UK. I shall have a play (not tonight as off to the pub) and give my thoughts on it.

Cool. Anyone played it yet? Is it worth £30?

From the review is seems alright (got 8.4/10 at IGN and GameSpot). I'll have another look at some more reviews. Thumbs Up

I got it a while ago. The US version.
Trust me when I say its got short term appeal. Its not as fulfilling as GT4 as you don't save up cash, you just challenge a rider with the bike you want to a race and either beat him or stay in 1st for 10 seconds and you win that bike. Not sure if I gave it long enough to grow on me. Its satisfying to get used to the handling though.

As I live in the US, I've had the pleasure of playing TT off and on for the last few months. I think it's an excellent game and is better in many ways than GT4, if a bit shallow. An excellent effort on the part of Polyhony Digital considering the niche market at which it is aimed. Comes highly recommended and is, in my opinion, the best two-wheeled racer out there.

I got it, don't like the fact you can't earn cash and buy parts (not actually sure if you can even get more parts yet)

The handling is fine but its not even close to TT Superbikes.

When your sitting at 200 it feels like you're at 50 the speed is a bit crap.

Still good fun though and the cockpit view on the bikes is class!

I'm on a ZX10r at the minute in black, its a beast Twisted Evil

Still waiting for mine to arrive, but sorry, did you just imply that the handling on TT Superbikes is good ?

It's one of the worst handling bike games ever!

i haven't slepth in 20 hours cos i've been playing this constantly. Only stopped to watch the GPs.

In short, the game is piss easy, physics are similar to MOTOGP 2/3 on the PC and i've already unlocked the super license and teh 1000cc race bikes in the process.

The game has loads of scope for improvement, and i wish it were a lot like GT in the fact that you have to earn your way up the ladder with your cash. I also wish that tuning was made more of a feature in the game rather than just having the option for "race exhaust!". It would be ideal for one to be able to get a stock bike then tune it to their own requirements then being able to race kit it. That'll make the game more fun to play ala GT2. And i wish tuners like Crescent, Ten Kate, HRC etc would have been more involved with the game.

It has the workings of a classic but i won't say that it's worth 30 quid.

I'm going to refund the game after i complete it. About 30% complete in the game now if this helps

I only paid $40 for it the day it came out, so I definitely think I got my money's worth. 30% isn't really much into the game as the difficulty level steadily mounts the further you progress. And getting silver or better on all the license tests was definitely a worthy challenge. I feel I got plenty for my dollar. And I've got TT Superbikes as well. Fun, but no comparison in my opinion.

Just playing mine now. I did the first licence before anything else, and I have to say the graphics are nothing sort of amazing. Seriously impressed by them, they are next to real life in the photos after the race (Which I thought was a brilliant touch). The bikes have been copied faithfully down to every last pixel and the physics are good too.

The only knock with this game is that it's a bike game and I find it frustrating when first playing to get into the swing of controlling the bike etc. keep falling off and the like, that's the only reason I can see that somebody wouldn't like this game.

But I have only done one race and one licence so I'll get back to you, so far I am very impressed.

firstly, the cb1300 getting the back out, that takes alot of practice and falling over, but it is possible to get the back end out that far and still make the corner(seattle circuit thats at.) and the ring, it does have the full circuit, like gt4 etc, but you dont do any races on it, and you cant have any more then 1 bike on it at a time, except for in 2 player.

im almost finished with the game so i can prob answer any questions you have:)

when i take pics, i save them straight to my card reader with a compact flash mem card in em, my digi cams one, then upload them, then resize them to 600x450 and save as highest quality in photoshop.

i also up the exposure by 2-3 clicks as the pic usually come out too dark.this is done prior to taking the pic.

getting the arse out is hard. if you ride hard and save the replay, youll notice, that if you bank it over a little before you brake for a corner, it will automatically go into a little slide and the rider will correct it himself, with some opposite lock of sorts. then its just a case of playing about with it. its rarely any rear brake till you actually wanna slow down, its loading the weight onto the front, taking pressure off the rear and allowing it to slide.

Right cheers for that, looks amazing. I like this game because it can show what bikes really can do given the right rider, for example, I just beat a K5 GSXR750 with a clapped out old 68bhp CB750F Laughing And I messed about at the start alot.

But cheers for the info, I'll give it ago because it does make for a great picture. Thumbs Up Mr. Green
