MV AGUSTA, F4 1000 S - Alarm problem DATATOOL SYSTEM 4

Hi

I'm completely new to this forum & has absolutely no knowledge of anything bike related, however, I seek your advice if possible.

A friend of mind keeps his MW Agusta in my garage (he currently has no garage of his own). It seems everytime he's been out on his bike & returns it to the garage the alarm will continually go off every 3-4 mins & for up to several hours.

Between to 2 of us we've tried allsorts in relation to resetting the alarm & he's had it outside his house for a few hours without any problems but as soon as it's back in my garage it goes off.

The alarm is apparently a DATATOOL SYSTEM 4. Does anyone know why this is happening &/or what we can do to fix it?

The bike is on an 06 plate so pretty new - it's difficult to take it back to the place of purchase when this only seems to occur in my garage. There's no mice or anything triggering this - the only other thing I can think of is something to do with tempurature in that garage.

Considering the System 4 has only been released in the last couple of months it is still under warranty so return the bike to the dealer that fitted the alarm who hopefully is the supplier of the bike and let them sort it out. I think the problem will probably be related to either bad fitment or the charging system assuming you don't have a cat.

my old car alarm used to be set of by my cordless doorbell occasionally. Could it be something like this?

I do have a cordless doorbell but no-one every rings it & it's quite a distance from the house.

You have got me thinking though. The garage is built on the side of my garage - I have my Sky+ dish on the side of that building & cables running to the house. I wonder if that could have something to do with it?!?!? That's the only electronical appliance anywhere near it & there's no mains in the garage itself.

There's another cheaper bike in there & the alarm on that one never goes off, however - it's probably not the same make

You may get condensation forming when in the garage, get the "black box" blow and silicone sealed.

If it is so new take it back to the dealers Rolling Eyes

See that first answer I bothered the write out?

I'm a data-tool fitter, the S4 is a sealed unit, return to dealer.

Stop looking for some highly unlikely possibility and just get it checked.
