Neon Lights - Chavs Only

Heya

Im thinking of putting neon lights on my bike, No not just a dirty chavey blue strip on the bottom of my bike which breaks after a week, I mean white neon lights all over the bike, mainly round the engine showing threw the grills and stuff

Question is, are they illegal? I would of thought not as there white and make the bike show up better in the dark better, Im gessing the white lights point backwards is illegal.

Also anyone done this? you can buy the kit at most bike shops ( around my area anyway ) , how easy are they to wire up?

its black, and its a aprila rs, I think it will look nice, but if it dont look nice then I just wont switch them on

I had tyre flashers on my old TZR (blue ones) and got pulled over for it. The guy just told me take them off and make sure i put the proper ones back on. Which i did.

yea, Id like to know if anyone got pulled with a dif colour lough, im just worried about getting an angry copper pull me over and finding other illegal stuff on my bike

ive got some blue neons on mine. but they are illegal but ive got a switch in just the right place so they can be flicked of when i need to. as far as i know all coloured neons are illegal but im not sure about white ones but i would think that they are aswell.

Go for it! I'd use LEDs rather than neons though.
Just bear in mind that red lights should only be visable from the rear, white light only visable from the front, and blue lights are discouraged as you might be trying to impersonate an emergency vehicle, so if you use blue then make it subtle.
Had you considered UV?

I've got 8, yes 8 LED tubes on my bike, 2 in the rear arch, 2 on the chassis, 1 pointing on the front wheel, 2 inside the fairings, and 1 as a H.U.D on the screen. I'm taking pictures tonight, i'll post them on here and tell me what you think.
I've also wired in a kill switch, so if i need to they can go straight off.

IIRC any white lights should onlt be visible from the front, reds only showing to the rear, and blue lights a definate no-no.
and they should also be on a separate (switchable) circuit to the rest of your lights.

(My OH wanted some LEDs on her car, but managed to wrap it round a pillar before I'd managed to get the wiring done )
