its not that simple though , I don't keep a fixed distance view , and I keep flicking my eyes back and forth to road side hazards like crossings chavs and stuff , to just before my wheel for shit like rocks bottles and hub caps.

while at the same time looking ahead and glace now and again at me speedo.

I just wondered if there was any link between all these recent posts about cagers "unexpectedly" pulling out in front of bikes and how people observe the road ahead.

I observe the traffic as far as I can see so I can see things coming, if anything, ie accidents/danger but look at the brake lights of 2 cars in front. Thumbs Up

even if you see it coming a mile off and its not really dangerous, its still annoying

in particular the merc drivers think other road users should give way to them as they are a bit more important than the rest of us

and cocky blokes who cross knowing you have to slow down or avoid them as they cross your path, i tend to blast the horn just as i pass as if i think they didnt see me, when i know they did. Its loud enough to make them jump which makes me feel better.

It depends on where i am and what speed im doing.

If im going through town at about 30mph i look all around, If im on the motorway and giving it a fist full i look as far ahead as i can.
