Count yourself lucky... I was on my way down to cornwall when we discovered one of my engine bolts was 90% out... (I was closelining little rabbits all the way down!).. so had to hold it in with my foot for the next hour..

...that was fun!

ok sags listen up...first go to a local shop and ask for a 'tube of superglue' Very Happy ...nah...but seriously.... invest in a screw extractor to drill a small pilot hole in the bolt itself until it is tight then extract the rest of the bolts out and replace with new bolts....a link to a cheap set of screw extractors are here https://www.toolstation.com/?r=k&feature=51010

hope this helps

tony

p.s - i have done this before ....but not on the exhaust bolts though..it is so easily done Laughing

Are they broken off flush or is there a bit of bolt sticking out? if they've broken leaving a stub then find someone with a welder to weld a nut over the broken stub, the heat from the welding will ease the stud and you'll find it easy to remove, if they've broken flush its more difficult, i've never had much luck with stud extractors, in fact, i hate them and certainly wouldn't consider using them for broken exhaust studs, the biggest danger is breaking the extractor inside the bolt, if you do that you're in big trouble, so avoid using them if possible, better getting someone to drill the studs out and helicoil new threads into the head.
