are you an American? (tire as to tyre) , good for you , that said I hear vehicles in the US can be right poor , in that there is no MOT like in the UK or Germany.

Well, fact of the matter is, most riders around here don't even bother to get their licenses, myself included. And the quick-enough ones don't ever have to as the police have more than a slight amount of trouble keeping up. After all, the fastest thing they've in their stable is a big 1200cc BMW touring bike and it's certainly not the K-series.

Anyway, it's not bad riding here as it's almost always sunny and there are quite a few choice roads but a half hour's ride away. And gas still isn't that bad, by comparison, despite it's recent jump to $3.60/us gallon of premium.

As an aside, I see far more unsettling events involving cars vs. riders, but there are far more of them than us...
