When you say 33bhp license?
Did you pass your full bike test in Ireland? Or were you riding
as a learner (UK guys, the law is different in Ireland, you can ride a 33bhp as a learner!!!, no CBT too).
If you have never passed your test in Ireland, then the answer is no.
You will need to do a CBT , to become a UK learner, then you can ride up to 125cc with L plates. You will also need to sit a theory test before you can do your bike test. There are 2 types of bike tests, if you pass on a 125cc you are restricted to 33bhp (any cc bike) for 2 years , if your over 21 you can do DAS, where you learn on a big bike, but you have to do this with a training school. If you pass DAS you are immediately any BHP.
If you passed your bike test in Ireland, then you were still limitted to 33bhp for 2 years after passing test, (only difference being no L plates and you could go on motorways and cheaper insurance).
Thus if this was 6 years ago, you were fine, you can easily swap.
I've also heard about Irish riders who swap their license for a UK one, who were still in their 2 year 33bhp after passing Irish test, being given a full bhp UK license!!
PS The dog on my avatar is Irish as is half my family. Luckily im English and thus can watch the footy this summer!! ____________________ I've a twin and a 4. |
