Hi

Jon ran wide at the end of the start finish straight with a minor collision, G tried playing with the jetting just before race 2 with unfortunate consequences.

All the best

Keith

Hi

There was a hefty shunt in the Superteens, which resulted in these low flying forks:-

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/TempPicture/LowFlyingForks.jpg

Looked nasty at the time, but the young lad who looked worst was fine later on (the forks belonged to the other guy who was fine).

Jay had a far better position for this incident and got some brilliant shots.

All the best

Keith

You should see the ones Jay has. Although discretion got the better part of valour as that front end was heading towards where he was sitting.

All the best

DNF, 9th, 6th, then 5th in the end. Shame really as testing went quite well getting into 1.18's

Got taken out in the first race so looks like I’ve done a few ribs in and my lung is playing up Brick Wall busted my ankle/foot Rolling Eyes so off to a&e later so I can get some drugs (no korn you can't have any Wink )

The guy said he out-braked himself but was more like a 'dirty' move but hey it's racing and shit happens.

Got back out there but it kind of hurt (left ankle so not much fun changing gear) so couldn't play with the front-runners Sad I'll be back though Mr. Green

12th (from the back row) in the first race, DNF the second.

Missed the shootout as the bike was missing important bits like throttle and brakes.

No problems all day, lap times getting down into the 1:18's so everything was good there.

Saturday races 1 & 2:
Doh! Taken out at Riches on the 2nd lap in the 1st race. Got the bike fixed up and out for the next race which went really well with Jon getting upto 8th with starting at the back.

Sunday races 3 & 4:

The obligatory trophies picture

Trophies that couldn't be collected at Croix so were picked up at Snet.

Bit of a meh weekend especially after the testing day which went really well, but Jon still picked up points in the other three races so hopefully that'll be a (fairly) good grid position for Cadwell where Jon'll be fixed up and the bike'll hopefully all be setup by SDC so ready to be out fighting for 1st place rookie again. It's later than normal, I've kicked my photographer's arse for that though... Oh, and I wasn't there again! Thanks for the comments G (and Bendy Wink )

GIFFOULD STRUGGLES AT SNETTERTON

Calcot motorbike racer Dave Giffould had a frustrating time at the latest rounds of the BMCRC Clubman Mini-Twin series at Snetterton in Norfolk at the weekend.

Just before the opening race of the weekend Dave was able to have his race spec Suzuki SV650 put on an engine dyno. However, he was surprised, and somewhat disappointed to learn that his engine was almost 10% down on the class limit, something of a disadvantage on a track with two of the longest straights in the UK.

After starting 10th in the opening race he immediately found that he was unable to keep his rivals behind him when he made up places in the corners. A move up and down the order meant that he could only finish 11th.

A change of air-filter to try and regain some of the missing power just before race two turned out to be a mistake, as the bike would not pull in high revs and Dave pulled into the pits and saved his tyres for the second day’s races.

The opening race of day two proved to be the high point of his weekend. After starting down in 29th, from 30 starters, he moved up to 12th place by the end of the race and just missed out on 11th by five hundredths of a second.

His luck ran out in the final race of the day though. A good start was negated by the lack of power on the straights and he was swallowed up by the following pack.

A very late braking move into the chicane on lap six allowed him to make up two places. However, it left him with some harsh braking to do to get into the second part of the turn. As he applied the brakes it threw the bike to the side, putting Dave onto the tarmac and into a rival.

The lack of power certainly made the weekend a struggle for Giffould, but he was happy with his performances against a field that undoubtedly had more horsepower than he did.

“I made good progress during the races and put in some consistent lap times against guys with more power than me,” he said. “The power deficit has never really been apparent before now as the circuits have been very twisty in their nature. But here at Snetterton it was always going to be a struggle being that far away,” he added.

Dave will next be in action at one of his favourite circuits, Cadwell Park, next month and is hoping to turn around his fortunes at the Lincolnshire venue.

“I’ve pretty much got all the pieces of the puzzle together that should put me up at the front with the guys leading the championship. I just need to put them all together to get back on form to challenge them. I hope that Cadwell will be the place to do that,” he said.

BSN people are sometimes floating about.

Last one I saw was some fat bloke that sat in his car all day with some copies of BSN (think they were for sale) - he didn't seem to do much, though people were going up and giving him details, he didn't seem too interested.

Yep. We also race with 'MRO'.

BMCRC is sometimes shortened lengthened to 'Bemsee'.
