Ive just seen some guy pull up outside my house on an ER-5 with an instructor behind him...

They were stopped at the traffic lights which were about to chang,e the instructor was making funny actions and pointing to the bottom of the helmet, and the guy on the ER-5 was staring into his mirrors looking realy confused...

I didnt know what was going on, but as i looked closer - this guy hadnt got his helmet done up Laughing You could see his strap dangling down by his shoulders as he waved into the wing mirror as if to say "I dont know where it is / what your talking about " Laughing Laughing

Anyway the lights changed, and to my supprise the guy on the ER-5 just rode off down the road, helmet strap in full flapping motion waving behind his head Laughing The instructor looked totaly terrified and raced up next to the guy as they went over the bridge! Laughing Laughing

That was the last i could see of them Laughing

Anyway, just thought i would share that random moment of amusement Cool

I believe that I completed AND passed my test with the chin strap undone Embarassed

Trying to do the damn thing up with my arse on brown alert, butterflies a plenty ad thick gloves on, I dont think I managed to click it shut before riding off away from the test centre.

It was blowing an absolute gail, so the examiner at the end of the test suggested we go inside to talk, when I tried to remove the lid, the straps were already un done.

I may have subconsciously unclipped the little belt fastners when he was talking to me, or they were never done in the 1st place Shocked

Its a bookable offense not to have the lid on properly (I believe Thinking)

I thought it was as I see it on one of those Police, camera shows. A copper pulls a ped boi over for, well being a chav I think, and he stated that its a fine (and maybe points) for not doing the straps up on his lid.

Clunk, click before every trip

Cant understand how you can not notice, if you leave it undone it'll whip you like a... well you know, it'll whip you and it somewhat stings, once you get up to speed and the wind increases.

Was wearing leather jacket and a balaclava under the helmet (obviously as you should'nt wear them over the helmet Rolling Eyes )

Earlier in the day, we had stopped to do some U turns and I nearly started to cry as my hands were absolutley freezing and the chill blains were aggonising. My face was the same, it was a numb as a numb thing.

I think I may have been concentrating so hard I may have thought any whipping was the little zip tag on the leathers.

I have done it a couple of times, got all my gear on, whacked the helmet on over my head to free up my hands (mines a flip up) then end up riding down the road, but you notice it over about 20mph with it slapping the side of your lid... As my GS takes so long to warm up i cant stop and let my hand of the throttle, so its a no handed jobby to do it up on the move... Smile

Iv done this a few times, but always notice after about 50 meters. Then have to proceed to take gloves etc off as mine is a D ring strap, slightly annoying.

The worst case ive seen was a stupid ped boy i saw at a service station.

I was with my mate on his RS125 and we were just sittin about having a chat and this guy and his mate comes out acting all hard, and he started staring at me.

I stared back because he was only 16/17 at the most and he didnt look too big Wink

Anyway, he got on his ped and started it, revving the knackers off it and pushed it backwards, still staring at me. Anyway after a while he goes "What you want?".

"You not gonna do your lid up then mate?"

"Nah!"

"Its there for your safety mate, hemlet aint gona do anything if you leave it undone..."

"Nah bruv, its f*ckin' fine ya prick"

... To which i meerly chuckled at turned back to my mate Laughing Next thing i know theres two chav idiots in their england shirt and shorts with flip flop style trainers nailing it down the parkway at 30mph - head down Laughing

Bless.

There were a load of chavs following me through town yesterday, I think. All of them had their helmets resting on their heads, was quite amusing to watch as they rode in 'formation' Wink Laughing.
