Only two weeks away and I've got me ticket on order as well as free accomodation sorted up there Razz Fucking rock on Twisted Evil

I haven't ordered the grandstand ticket just the general admission one so i think that lets you have a choice of where to go. Also from the place I'm staying its possible to walk in so they'll be no problems with parking. Not doing the camping as the bloke I'm meeting up there from work said that he and a mate did it last year and some tosser dropped a turd next to their tent Sick and also theres about one toilet for 500 or so people on the campsite.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone whose been before has any recommendations about where the best place to watch it from is?. Any other stuff thats a good idea to do?

Cheers

Stu

Lots of overtaking at the Foggy Esses, and you can see the last corner before the straight from there, also some last second dives/crashes there.

Craner Curves if you want to see a really big crash, but doesn't happen very often.

At Craner curves?

Last time I watched from there I saw one highside at the old hairpin, that was it.

We've got free tickets so i may as well not waste them. Thumbs Up

On the Saturday we normally watch from the grandstand opposite the pits. But on race day we normally watch them go down craner curves on the infield side of the track, there is sometimes a screen there so you can watch them go round the rest of the track.

Yes Sam, but it was pissing it down with rain.

Felt quite tight for laughing at the 125 boys binning it every lap. Laughing

You want to be careful doing that. Craig was laughing at one of thr R6 Cup guys who'd just binned it at the Melbourne Loop - next second he got stung by a bee! Now that's karma! Very Happy

Dunno, I just mant on the track there was a whole lot of binnage.

I dont read the corners names of tracks or pay attention to what is what on the track. Even before doing the trackday at snett.

What I do know is there is a place called 'the foggy esses' at 1 track god know where that is though.

Ah, I was reffering to Craner curves in not being many crashes. It's notorious in that if anyone crashes there's a decent chance the bike's going back to the pits in a bin bag and the rider probably carted off in an ambulance!

I'd like to go, but after last years fiasco that I watched on TV I don't think I could risk it.

Perhaps if I went in the car and thus could have a full change.

Having been for the last 3 years (if i go this year thats 4 on the trot) i can safely say that the majority of the problems were ironed out last year!

The camp site arrangements were better, there were FAR more provisions for toilets, showers etc than there has been the last few years.

Water was easily accessable from MANY locations throughout the camp site.

The only real problem that stayed and has been for years, is vacating the place after sundays racing - its chaos!

Last year took me 3 hours to get from the main carpark (next to the bike park) into castle donnington so that i could rejoin the motorway north bound.

Once i did get on M1, traffic was nightmare again - all said and done it took 7 hours to get back to York from the race circuit.

Shocked
