Came across this video (click) (2.8MB file) from the shinysideup.co.uk site.

Having watched it I'm thinking it's stating the obvious.
For material like this then IMO the THINK! videos offer more advice,
see here (3.6Mb file) and here (18.5Mb file). In fact the second one actually makes me smile Shocked

Anyone else have any comments?
How should this message be put across?

Thing is, there are people who no amount of campains or videos like that will ever reach. Whatever you do there will always be risk takers.

I reckon the only way to combat reckless driving, is to have more police in cars on the roads, then they can stop dangerous/drunk/stupid drivers instead of all the focus being on speed cameras and persecuting anybody and everybody while the true nutcases carry on between the cameras.

I'd agree with everything else in the post except about police in cars. IMO and experience police in cars do not have the correct knowledge, experience and understanding of bikes in order to judge the difference between safe and dangerous (but give them a measure and they'll check your plate size Rolling Eyes, go figure).

IMO more police on bikes would be a good thing. Sad that many forces have chosen to disband their motorcycle units, although I hear Essex have just reintroduced 6 bikes.

Ok, police on bikes, and or well trained police with good attitudes, i know its too much to ask for, but hey, we can dream.

Where my parents live in florida, every time you go out in the car, you see 2-5 police cars/bikes, there one that just drives round the local neigborhoods, then theres all the ones on the highway.

The highways speed limit is 70, usualy you get people doing 80-90 with the police usualy at 80 paying little attention to just speed.

Just seems to work better than what we have going on, round here, i dont think i see a police car on the roads more than one every few months, there normaly devoted to watching the town as the pubs kick out.

I agree with map. There should be more police on bike because you can even tell if a police man/woman is a biker just with the attitude towards you but their is also the ones that know a little about bikes although never having any experience with them and know that pulling over for a plate measurement or a sudden urge/fetish to see E marks is a waste of time and paper work as it doesn't really affect safety.

I am being completely honest when I say that ever since I have been on the roads (about 2 years now) I have only ever seen 2 police motorcyclists and that was on the same day, parked on junction intermedians about 50 meters from each other.

I never thought I'd say this but I want more traffic police...on bikes.
