NC24 and NC30 are different models of VFR400. Pretty much all grey import Honda 400's have an NC designation. (So CBR400 tri-arm is NC23)

its what they call 'em in Japan , funnily enough it doesn't make too much sense , since a legendary race bike the RC45 uses the RC designation , but my fat NTV650 has an RC33 designation and it certainly ain't a race bike

Not sure, NC seems to designate the smaller capacity bikes, RC most a few bikes of larger capacity. Don't think there's any discernable connotations, they're only (Japanese) chassis numbers after all.

(Although, all the Honda race bikes do tend to carry an RC tag (RC166, RC30, RC51, RCV211V to name but a few).

Theres also the MC models of the NS250R and NSR250,s

MC11,MC16,MC18,MC21,MC28

NC21,s and NC24,s sell for a lot less than NC30,s due to them being older and having a bad rep for electrical problems.
