Your thoughts on the Aprilia RS250??

I have recently bought me a Suzuki RF600 to use as my first "Big" bike, only it came at the right price (£400) and was in excellent condition.

I now have a 11 month old RS125 who in 3 weeks time will be sitting their doing nothing until i decide to sell it or bin my RF.

I have always been in love with the RS250 and their is one not a million miles away from me going for 2k and it looks in mint condition.

Do I chop the RS125 for the 250?!

Or sell the RS anyhow and save the £££'s for a nice deposit on a new bike in a year or 2's time?

if the rs250 is mint, and not about to explode, then that sounds a very good price. just check it thouroughly.

whether buying that, or saving the money is a better option.......only you can decide.

but i'd save the money. I have found i prefer 4 strokes to the 2 stroke thing of always covering your clutch.

I am working on the Basis I love my current RS, it handles great its very nippy and its looks pretty darn cool.

The only thing it lacks is that little bit more power - Something the 250 could offer. Does the 250 handle as well or better than the 125??

What is peoples overall opinion on the 250??

The RS has charm. Go and have a test ride.

I'd give it 20 seconds of riding before you flog the suzuki.

I'd definitely go for an rs250 as a second 'fun' bike to go with the rf as a main bike.

For £2k I'd expect one in quite good condition.

I paid £900 and £1190 for mine - both around 10k miles.

The 250 will handle better then the 125 and should last better.

I will buy one if one comes along and never sell it.

they look awsome, go like sh*t of a shuvel and will handle brilliantly but the downside cost for maintanance is stupid and doesnt take much to make it go bang!! but fi it is used as a fun bike they are brill and you will love it

have a test ride though

i tried one and there was a lot of vibration and it didnt feel right.

I now have a similar thing on my rs125 and it turns out that engine mounting bolts are loose. They cant be tightened as the threads appear to have gone. Looks like the mechanic who did my rebuild over tightened them.
