Anyone catch the article in latest Fast Bike on giving a new lease of life to 400's?

The concept gixxer looked lush.. they made some fair points, I for one wish they still actively made sports 400's.

There was also a review and the ZXR whipped the rest by far Thumbs Up

A ragged Fzr, an non functioning gsxr and an overpriced example rvf vs a good zxr. If they are going to bother could have at least made it a fair matchup Rolling Eyes

I thought the main manufacturers had some 400's coming out.

Aimed at the younger market Confused

Not sports 400's mainly just 600 bikes with the engines resleeved to 400 so not worth having.

If gp 2 stroke 250's change to 4stroke 400's with 125 2 strokes switching to 200 4stroke we might see alot more 400cc race replicas.

125cc 2stroke vs a 4stroke 200? would a 4t 250 not be a better match in power?

I was thinking more to match the 800cc gp class, 400cc then 200cc would make the most sense but doubt they will dump 125cc-250cc strokers as changing to 4strokers would be time consuming and expensive.

there probably is a gap in the market , I've seen one from my POV,

in that commuters are generally grp 1-10 ,

the next sports 600s are generally around grp14-17

sports 1000s or super exotics are grp 16-20

jumping 4 insurance groups has got to hurt the wallet a bit , which is why I fancy an NC30 grp 12 , but no massive top end which I'll never ever use anyway.
