The government and the police i find are always conflicting issues with road safety and policy's...
As with the speed trap thread in this section, i am very aware (since loosing my licence) that these fuckers can ruin my life by hiding in the bushes or having unaccurate equipment.

I think getting caught speeding (we all do it) it is like the saying for crashing, "It's not a case of if, but when"

Throw this in to the paranioa trip with the amount of legislation on the road, and the large amount of signage in your face, i reckon its far too much to think about on the road...

What do you think?

Dont think its too much to think about, its part of being on the road, if you dont like it, dont be on it, if signs werent there you'd complain.
In some views i agree with speed traps, but if it means i loose my licence i hate them, aslong as its not me getting fined, there okay.

Don’t get me wrong I know I need signs for going places, and for bus lanes, but some I find absolutely pointless.
I don’t have trouble on the road, but sometimes I do just concentrate on the road so much I don’t think about speed camera’s and idiots.
You have to be on the ball, I just find that now I’m thinking about so much, I’m one of these people who can handle it, being on a bike makes it easier as you don’t have food, phone or drink on a bike. It worries me what others are thinking about who really don’t give a shit.

I wouldn't say it's too much to think about at all, if you're driving legally.

Even illegally, it just means one extra thing to look out for - think of the pig in the bush as a small kid in a bush that may jump out on you Smile.

Much as I don't like a lot of the way they do things and future draconian plans, it's only so that I can continue to break the law.
Though, of course, someone that doesn't break the law, or doesn't realise they do more likely, would probably see my attitudes as completely unreasonable.

I figure if I can't spot them, then I was going too fast.

Even then, the odds seem pretty fair, had a few fortnights of getting a bit nervous when the post arrives cos I reckon I've gone through a trap or a camera, but nothing's ever come of it.

The excessive signage is another matter, there are a few places (especially in London) where it can all get a bit bemusing - if anything that makes you a danger cos you slow down to read it all and spend a few seconds completely unaware of everything else around you.
