Here we go, a bit of a general daytime tv type thread. Laughing
Breakdown cover, who do you use?
How much was it?
Have you ever had to use it?
Why that particular company instead of others?

Off you go guys.

I use RAC - the 60-odd quid option
Used it 2 days after I signed up, how flukey is that! Never had cover before - I must be psychotic Cool Wink

The guy turned up after 45 minutes, just enough time for me to walk to the petrol station for a drink and back . He knew fuck all about bikes so just strapped it on his truck and took me home.

I was happy enough with that Thumbs Up

Didn't realise you only get to make five callouts in a year tho, not that I plan on using this many.

Hopefully

Used to use NCI Biker Rescue, only reason why I ain't with them now is cos I didn't renew for no reason.

I paid £50 a year to get vehicle registered cover, which included road side assistance, and recovery to any uk destination.

I certainly needed it when I owned my Kawasaki!

AA cover me on bike & car.

I've gone for the dogs b***xs cover as I was once left stranded by a cheap recovery company, ie -8c new years eve, middle of moors with 2
babies in the car. All the cheap ones do is sub it out, the bloke who came was okay, but he showed me the time of the call he got.

On a bike front the AA were wonderful, my throttle cable snapped, 30 mins later I had a AA bike mechanic, who put a temporary cable on.

Can't fault them.

I get the thing that comes with my insurance, I've used them and they were good. They use "SOS Motorcycle Recovery".

£17.50 a year including taking you to anywhere in the UK. They took me from Bath to Stevenage fairly painlessly.
