Hey all,

Ive noticed a few more of you having bought RF600's recently and wondering how you are getting on with them?

Few questions:
How old are you?
Insurance Premium?
How tall are you?

Ive got my test on the 12th and have been looking at a RF600 as a first bike. They seem to go cheap and seem cheap to insure, Ive got a grand to spend and Ive had insurance quotes around the £360 TPO mark.

Thanks for your time,

Matt

I brought one on Sunday. Im about 5ft 10" and its the perfect size. Will need to get used to the weight of it though. Havnt had a proper insurance quote yet as my test is in 2 weeks, but ran it through the Churchill website and got a quote of £280 with 5 years no claims. After a bit of phoning around i will get it lower than that though. Thumbs Up

Getting on with mine just fine at the moment, maybe a complete different story when it goes for its MOT. Laughing

As for my age im 21, and 5ft 10 and a splodge.
Insurence quote, around £400 so far and that is with 2 years no claims bonus - No doubt if I use my sales skills I will get it to £250 - £300 (Hopefully)

Seem cool bikes anyway! Thumbs Up

Absolutely no idea, the origional engine blew up at around 36k so the previous owner took it to his mate garage who fitted it with a reconditioned engine which was sitting on around 12k apparently??

So the engine has done around 14k and the bike has doen around 38k

How about yours?
How much did you pay for yours?

Everything is totally standard on the bike and apart from a few scratches on the nose (the bloke i brought it from had to get it down his alley to the back garden (about 3 ft wide Laughing )) the body work is great too . Blew up at 36k you say ? Thats not a lot Shocked

To be fair i cant comment on if any other bikes that size for that money are any good as i havnt even ridden my own yet. You should get the insurance a bit cheaper, just call a few more places and bounce the price off them all. Play them all off against each other Thumbs Up

Steve, if it has a new engine in, and only 14k (if you belive what they told you Razz ), it shouldnt go blowing up just yet. Just dont go fraping it like your RS Twisted Evil

It is impossible not to thrape the RS!!

I have had it bouncing through the gears in the twistys for a few months now and when I get home and get off it and think *Ha have that you little barsteward* it just smiles at me and asks for more. Twisted Evil

I know it sounds silly but I am begining to miss the RS already and I still have it. Laughing

I just cant see the RF being as much fun as my current bike??
With the power in a 600cc you can sail through every corner without even changing gear and have enough power to steam train out the other side by just winding the throttle on - where as the RS you are up and down the gearbox ensuring its kept on the button at all times.

I need to re-jiggle my finances to keep them both me thinks. Cool

I am tame around town on the RS and dont rev it too much but when I get to the twistys - Its like the demon has took over my soul and I am out for one reason and its race around like a nutter. Twisted Evil

However I will be keen to see exactly what top end this little monster has. Very Happy
