Hi guys,

My 1991 NSR 125FL has been sat in the garage since last september, and has seen no use since. The clutch cable went, and as the insurance ran out I just couldnt be arsed to fix it. The way I saw it was if it didnt work, there would be no temptation to take it out. Wink

I'm driving around in a '98 Honda civic at the minute, and although it's not the slowest car in the world, there are times when I just get really bored with the whole driving thing. I miss the bike, and the increasing amount of bikers on the roads at the minute is just taking the piss. I'm fed up of sitting in a redhot car with no A/C in this weather....

My CBT runs out on september this year, and my bike needs insurance/tax/mot/clutch cable and a headlight before I can get it back on the road. Me thinks I'm gonna have to get my test passed fairly pronto.

back to my original problem though - The panels are starting to look a little aged (although still remarkably good for it's year). Someone has changed the rear decals however, and it looks as if they've used a bloody screwdriver or similar to remove the old decals! It's scratched the paintwork, although the new decals do a good job of covering them.

What I want to know is, how would you spray this bike if it were your own? Any photoshop gurus out there? Feel free to have a play. The wheels are a little too 'loud' for my liking and I'd much prefer them in either red or black. What do you reckon?

BTW, the bike isnt quite the same as those pics anymore. The number plate has been swapped for a mini 3"x9" plate, rear indis have been replaced by mini arrows, chain/sprocket changed....overall just looks a bit smarter.

The wheels are still as bright as ever tho, and that paint job isnt getting any better....come on people, gimme some ideas please! Bear in mind that I will recover the seat if need be.

How does black with white decals, white wheels & black rimtape sound? or maybe black wheels with white rimtape? Or maybe I shouldnt go with black at all?! arghh! Thinking

flip - that int what ya mum said! Razz

Anyways, don't give a damn if its ugly, the old shape NSRs never were the prettiest bikes out there, although they didnt do bad considering what else was on the market at the time. Square headlights, illuminous wheels and indicators as big as housebricks seems to have been fashionable back then. Rolling Eyes

Anyway, like i say it doesnt bother me. The mechanicals of the bike are as sound as they could ever be - did a full rebuild less than 2000miles ago. The bike cost me £500 to buy and has been worth every penny IMO. Will still push 95mph on the clock - at which point you realise why most bikes nowadays have full fairings - its not the most comfy experience at those speeds on an ickle 125 let me tell ya.

I'm now thinking I'm going to paint the bike black/white/gunmetal grey, and then have the wheels done in black or gunmetal too. What I would love to do is spray the frame in matte gunmetal. Theres one on bikepics like that and it looks fab. Shame it'd be a royal pain in the ass to do. Not sure if I can be bothered to have the bike in bits again.

btw, Anybody know of a program that you can edit colours quickly with?

cheers,

=chris=
