ok my friend gave me a hyosung aquilla 125,for free, as it's been declared a write off.(it was rear-ended/pushed over by a bus-not as bad as it sounds)
it's my first bike, and i'm going to fix it up, problem is, being a foreign bike(japanese i believe) i am having trouble finding spares (rear fender, new frame-to name but a few less universal parts that i need)
and i also need a manual so i can do it myself (there are none on ebay).
so basically does anything know anything that could help me (and my guy mates-to do all the lifting and shifting, as the bike is a little big for me to lift!) out?

cos i have decided that i'm not insuring it/taxing it or doing my cbt and such until i can at least start fixing my bike.

thankyou!

hold on its a write off , what category? , some categories mean they can NEVER ever ever be put back on the road , and I think Tin put a cat C back on the road and it was a helluva lot of trouble.

ummm.....i'm not too sure, basically the frame is a little bent the rear fender is smashed, the brake light it missing, and the brake lever is slightly bent too, but that bit's easy to sort.
Smile

basically the reason we think they said it was a write off was because the frame is hard to get hold of.
so far i'm having to resort to importing it!!

though i am told that my bike is based upon a honda......in which case a honda framemight fit, does anyone actually know if this is true or not?

Hyosung is a Korean manufacturer.
A honda frame is unlikely to fit I'd say, but others may know better.
You need to check what category write off you've got, if it's cat A or B you may not put it back on the road, if A you're not even allowed to use parts of it.

Yes any frame can be bent back into position but it will never be as strong as it was and could fold on you as you are going along. Plus you will need VOSA to do an inspection on the vehicle before they will pass it road legal. They are thorough and if they don't like what they see they wont pass it.
