I'd imagine yes... as you don't show them your license when you buy the insurance.

And obviously if you're driving without a license then you're breaking the terms of the insurance and so they don't have to pay up.

Forgot to mention - I've never claimed yet so that was just a guess Smile

I've had to fax my licence when I've taken out new insurance.

Really? When I bought my license online I never had to give them any of my license details however it is in the terms and conditions that I agree that I have the appropriate license.

i had to send them a photocopy of both parts of my lisence, so i dont imagine they'd need to see it again, but i guess that would change depending on the company?

I've never sent any details of my licence or copies of it to any insurance company, for the bike or the car.

Had to notify them of 3 car incidents, 2 of which weren't my fault and I claimed off the other party and 1 which was and the other party claimed off me.

Nobody ever asked to see my licence, although I did have a producer for it by the Police for the first incident (when the 4x4 driver fell asleep and rammed me off the M6).

sometimes yes, sometimes no. depends on the agent, insurer - underwriter.

my insurer needed to see my licence before they sent out the full cover note and only gave me a months cover note in the mean time.
