Anyone know how the polarity of the line in and aux sockets are set on the Autocom pro-7?

aux socket is mono input and output, using a tip-ring-shield jack.
Line in is stereo audio using a tip-ring-sheild jack.

however, does anyone know which channels are which on the aux jack? ie which is the mic and which is mono audio?

and on the line-in, which is left and right channels?

I'll have to do some analysis on my phone as that uses a 4-pole tip-ring-ring-sheild jack for audio out and hands free usage :\

this Shuold help me make up a wiring harness for the pda/phone and GPS so I can listen to stereo music, use the hands-free on the phone and get audio prompts from the GPS.

I'm sure that would make sense if I read it again but what exactly are you wanting to do.

I run a phone and music from my Autocom just using the correct adaptors. The music is Stereo, the phone is mono.

The tip will be left in stereo applications. Not sure about the autocom wiring.

I want the stereo audio, and microphone output from my pda/phone (single jack) to be split between the stereo audio input on the autocom (line in) and the microphone side of the auxiliary input/output socket. so I can play MP3s on my phone, but still use the muic for hands free.

i then want to take the remaining mono line-in fom the auxiliary port and use that as the ausio prompt from the GPS

I don't know mate, sorry.

If you've not sorted it yet best thing is just to give them a ring. Number is 01926 431249.

Cheers

Rick.
