My cat & the neighbours car!

Second time she has banged on my door, and tonight was the last straw.

*BANG BANG BANG*

'You cats are wreaking my car!'

So I went to look at her bonnet, and there is 4 deep scratches, 1 inch apart, and about 5 inch in lenght, down to the steel.

I said 'hows a cat done that, are you sure no-one has been sat on your bonnet in jeans'

The daughter and her Chav boyfriend who were stood at the door, quickly denied any knowledge, but we've seen them ourselves sat on it.

The daughter hen started laughing, so I said 'if your just going to laugh I am not interested'

What do you guys think!

I have looked at my car and it has cat prints on but no scratches what-so-ever! These are just normal domestic street moggys, not mongolian tigers!

Shall I burn their car?

If she gets really arsey about it, tell her to call the police, then they can mock her too.

Or fit your cat with some "soft paws". (I must have sat and sniggered for a good half hour when the leaflet for these arrived at work.)

Cats claws cant scratch through paint to that extent. Unless the cat has a feckin huge paw and superpowers. I would tell your neighbor to maybe look closer to home for the culprit. Better still get then to get the police involved as they would laugh at a cat sratching that deep with that type of spacing.

We have cats, and I have seen them sitting on my car loads of times...but scratch the paint? No chance. Bloody cats don't have the energy for that. All the cheeky buggers do to my car is cover it with muddy footprint trails.

Tell your neighbours to involve the police if they are convinced its your critters. I am sure they will be more than happy to get the forensics people around to check your cat's claws for samples of paint.

I have attached 2 pics I have just taken of her bonnet, crappish quality but you can see the extent of the scratches!

Apparently she was going to get a quote today but we'll see on tuesday if she says anything when the garages are back open!

Cats only scratch cars when they are scared off, ie, if you see a cat on your cat, and run at it, it digs its claws in and runs for it.

If they take a gentle approach, the cat will stroll off the car without leaqving any damage.

i`ve had something similar my neighbour "took in " one of my cats , fed it and didnt let it leave the house for 4 days ,the wife went frantic trying to find it , even to the point of going round every one of the neighbours asking if they`d seen her, to which they said no they hadn`t, then when the cat had shit all over her hall carpet, that was where her litter tray was in our house, she tried to claim a new carpet out of us, she reported us to the police and the rspca but was told that cats are counted as wild animals and as such she couldnt prosecute the owner for damage done by the cat so all she got for causing that amount of trouble was a shit stained carpet and a lot of abuse from my other neighbours

It's a typical petty neighbourly feud. Some people will take issue with anything they can.
You could have a rotweiler running around barking all night, taking human sized dumps everywhere and eating kids. Then they would have cause for concern.
No fucking way a cat could cause real damage to car paintwork. They will get annoying prints all over it but that's it.

Tell them you'll sit down and have a word with your cat about it.

I recently caught our neighbours cat curled up on my bed having a nap on my pillow. It turns out it must have been regularly climbing in through the roof/velux window as I found little paw prints around the edge on the paintwork.
I'm allergic to cats and wondered why I've still been waking up with hayfever symptoms for the last few months!!
