Nokia 6280 dictionary help

My phone is really starting to annoy me

When I type a text message using predictive text and I want to use a word that it doesn't recognise, I type the word in and press the * key to cycle through the matching words until "spell" comes up on the screen and I press that and enter the word I want manually. I then press save and the word is used in the text message.

But when I come to type that word again it's noot bloody saved in the stupid phone's dictionary! So I have to go through the whole thing again and it's getting a tad annoying.

There must be some setting that needs changing or something?

I'm going by the features of my phone which is at least 5 years older than yours - but to make it learn a word, I 'highlight the word' (on mine I can select either a ingle letter, or it underlines the entire word) and then go into the menu and hit 'Learn'.

I've pressed "save" when I've typed the word in but it doesn't save it! It uses it in that text message but then forgets it.

Only thing I can think of mate is that maybe it's possible to download some new firmware?

Been hearing a lot about the N70 having dodgy firmware that can be sorted with an update.

It's a known problem on the 6280, there is a way around it but...

a: it's hassle
b. you need to do it for every word you want to save

Do a google and you should find the info, that's how I did.

Press options then select 'insert word'. It will save then.

You're not doing it wrong, it's just a bug in the phone.
