I can't view any videos like on Youtube & it decides to sometimes be really slow when browsing.

It must be the same thing that's causing me trouble not being able to view emails from Outlook & not letting me sign in on MSN, i've checked my firewalls & everything.

I've scanned with a few softwares & cleaned my pc but nothing has helped. I'm using Mozilla & with NTL. Anyone got any ideas or settings that might help?

I guess you have already rebooted the modem/router if its seperate from the machine.

Who is your ISP?

Also what type of connection are you on, ADSL, Cable etc.

Does this occur all the time, or at certain periods?

Try resetting the modem (unplug it) when that happens or reset the router if you have one.

I have NTL with a linksys wireless router and Mozilla Firefox, My connection settings are on:

"Auto-detect Proxy settings for this network"

Yup, tried that but nothing works, also tried another setting but it's not working. Is causing MSN/Outlook/Videos to not work/play, also IE takes ages to open a page. So it's obviously something to do with my connection but i have no idea.

I've been getting that quite recently.

I'm on iexplore, 6Mb BT ADSL.

I thought that I must have a bit of spyware of a few trojans kicking about because with 6Mb, streaming isn't a problem.

I did a few scans with various software, found a few tracking cookies and that was it. The problem stopped and then it started to happen again. Did another scan and sorted it again.

Your probably just getting some bad crap for dodgy sites maybe.

Edit/ Also, I used Tuneup utilities 2006 to check if any thing was wrong and it found a few changes in codecs aswell as other little stuff. Maybe a cause of it.

Misc, NTL aren't the most reliable ISP.

If you ever get any problems, have a check here to see if its a known problem.

If not give NTL tech support a ring.

Try the following from the:-
Start > Run > cmd

ping www.bbc.co.uk -t

When its good, you should get ping times around 30-40 ish on NTL.
If the pings are all over the place, or up in the hundreds then it can indicate a network problem somewhere.

Check NTL's status pages etc.

I rekon it sounds like an NTL problem tbh.

Try running this program and it will tell you the amount of traffic in/out from the physical port of your machine.

So if there is always loads of traffic, even when you aint doing anything, then I sould assume PC issue.

If there is no traffic and the net is still fubar'd then its most likely a problem outside.

P.S. Has it rained a lot recently?
The Cable DP's can get flooded and this causes havoc with the internet (well used to with Telewest),.
